About Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (HMC):

The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, serving as the governing body for Hyderabad and Latifabad Talukas in Sindh, Pakistan, is pivotal in managing municipal services. As the second largest city in Sindh, Hyderabad's urban development and well-being rest largely on the shoulders of the HMC. This body operates under the Sindh Local Government Act of 2013 and is responsible for essential services like infrastructure maintenance, sanitation, water supply, and public health and safety.

Previously we were limited to Taluka latifabad and Hyderabad. Now we are dealing with entire Hyderabad district consisting on 160 union committees

Mission and Vision:

The mission of HMC centers on delivering transparent and efficient governance, committed to sustainable development, and ensuring high-quality public services for all citizens. Its vision aspires to establish Hyderabad and Latifabad as exemplary cities in terms of livability, infrastructure, and public services. The corporation aims to create an inclusive environment and lead in environmental stewardship, fostering a resilient and adaptable urban landscape.

Key Services:

HMC’s scope of work includes urban planning, infrastructure maintenance, waste management, water supply and sewage management, and regulation of construction activities. It ensures the provision of municipal services like street lighting, parks maintenance, and public amenities, playing a vital role in enhancing the living conditions in the region.

Leadership:

The Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's leadership plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization towards its goals. This includes Mayor Kashif Shoro from the PPP and Deputy Mayor Saghir Qureshi , also from the PPP. Alongside them, Jam Zahoor Lakhan serves as the Municipal Commissioner, overseeing the administrative operations of the corporation. Their combined efforts and leadership are integral to the effective governance and development of Hyderabad and Latifabad Talukas.
